… the physical inspection. The established COSway is delivery in thick felt pouches. These latest causeurs were no different. Here we see the two umbilical options both with fitted ferrite clamps and quality Viborg plugs…

… then the gear assets with one dearer umbilical seated plus the small MeanWell wall wart of the S6 on its top with spare ferrite clamp to be user fitted. The quad of dip switches selects individual Ethernet ports. Up is off, down is on. The lone one controls the RJ45 LEDs instead of the original belly switch previously mentioned.

Here comes my office install for this review. My LHY Audio EFI and Stack Audio SmoothLAN Ethernet bridges had exited to replace with the Taiwanese duo. Remaining was UIP, LHY's single i/o USB isolator. That feeds an Audalytic DR70 DAC. Here it hides atop the Gustard R26II streaming DAC behind the travel altar to show off the COS twins. A LHY linear power supply feeds the DR70 in lieu of its internal SMPS. With one S6 port unused and defeated, I could still connect that to the 20m CAT8a spur to the dedicated music iMac in the main system and exploit the S6's functionality for two systems. Again, this office system runs two parallel paths: 1/ Ethernet into the Gustard DAC for local files and Qobuz Sublime cloud files both of which route through Audirvana which resamples all PCM to DSD512 aka 22.5MHz; 2/ and USB 384 into the Audalytic DAC for Spotify Premium and YouTube which Audirvana can't access. The preamp switches between both DACs. By implication, the 1st path is filtered aka reclocked once here by the COS S6; the 2nd path noise-filtered twice, first by the COS then USB isolator run off its own outboard linear supply indicated by LPS below. If you're curious about the album cover and a fan of the Turkish lap harp called qanun hence fond of Göksel Baktagir, Aytaç Doğan, Hasan Isakkut and Tamer Pınarbaşı, put Kutsal Sütoğlu on your list as well. Your ears will thank you.
