7th Moon Access

My extracurricular activities. It's what the 7th moon section of 6moons is about. Much of it remains about audio just delivered in podcast format. But this green area shall double as my personal repository on non-hifi matters. After all, there's more to life even if regular creation of audio-related content does consume much of mine. So don't expect volume here but rather, the occasional posts on topics beyond the site's unchanged main focus.

A lovely resource of good news…
NDA or NDE – what's in a letter?

In the fall of 2015, I attended the annual Warsaw hifi show. Behind Forza AudioWork's display desk sat Dawid Grzyb. He then published hifi reviews on Poland's largest tech blog. During our lengthy chat, I asked why he didn't helm his own site to enjoy full independence. Half a year later he and Marek Dyba launched HifiKnights.com. Dawid and I have collaborated on syndications ever since. Fast forward to 2026. Deciding to take our team work to the next level, we created the 7th Moon YouTube channel. Whilst 6moons and HifiKnights are all about the written word and static images, the podcast format expands our profile to two—or more?—talking heads. If you entered via this page, you're probably familiar with our prior work. The obvious appeal of video podcasts is being consumable as audio only whilst out and about. They add unscripted spontaneity; the give 'n' take of conversations between divergent viewpoints and opinions; and for those who watch, a chance of some show 'n' tell. For us it also adds a social dimension to otherwise solitary work. How will this channel shape up? Having between us worked in the audio review space for more than 40 years, there's a foundation of solid personal experience and shared values. We think that makes for a strong backbone on which to build organically evolving content. As we grow into the swing of it, that content hopefully turns out to be entertaining and educational in equal measure. Aside from YouTube's own archives, this page and an equivalent one on Dawid's site shall double as access portal to our 7th Moon episodes. You'll note that we turned off the YouTube comments section. We have neither the time nor inclination to patrol comments and blacklist occasional trolls. If you have questions for Dawid or I, email us directly at dawid|hifiknights.com or srajan|6moons.com and we'll happily reply; or consider requests and suggestions for future episodes. Now channel away in seventh style. Oops. We're still working on that first episode planned to drop by late May.

… still to come…

In April 2026, Edgar Kramer of SoundStage Australia who had contributed to my site during its earlier days introduced me to Andrew Hutchison of the Aussie podcast Not An Audiophile. Having asked Edgar what type platform might be suitable to collaborate across once more, he thought that Andrew who had already hosted him might enjoy the notion of an occasional transcontinental chat between the three of us. An email or two later and that seed had grown roots. How many episodes will come of it remains to be seen. It's Andrew's channel after all whose mix of guests is far more far-flung than just Edgar and yours truly. We certainly wouldn't want to impose and hog his airwaves. Just so, this page is perfect to link to any episodes with me. The first taping happened May 5th at 9AM Irish time, 6PM Oz time.

… still to come…

Getting my podcast feet wet happened because on October 20th of 2023, John Darko of darko.audio working from Berlin or Lisbon was kind enough to invite me to his channel as a remote guest from Ireland. This continued with more appearances where the two of us chewed the fat on usually three new product releases each. The below gallery hot-links those episodes whilst Dawid and I work on our own. For both of us the primary mode of expression remains the written review and industry commentary. Our YouTube channel is an add-on. Like for my non-hifi musings, don't expect weekly podcasts like channels whose presenters focus exclusively on said format. Expectation management is important. As the other sections of 6moons, the drop-down menu of the home page shows, across the 7th moon, the last date on which content added. That's easy enough to check and avoids you coming here only to find nothing new.
