When designing the Reiki Audio SuperSwitch Master, Nigel Bell focused on noise minimization. His switch is designed to eliminate noise from the router whilst the switch circuit itself is not supposed to add any of is own and its hermetically sealed multi-shielded housing keeps airborne UHF noise out. Nigel is convinced that the less EMI/RFI noise enters a network player, the better it will sound. That's why he recommends connecting his SuperSwitch to the streamer with the shortest possible unshielded CAT-6 cable (two such cables are included); or with a LAN cable with the shield on one side of the switch: because the streamer should receive as little noise as possible.

Whether you share Nigel Bell's beliefs or not is irrelevant. What matters is that you can hear the results of their implementation. Or as he puts it: "The proof of the pudding is in the eating." His tastes are excellent. Resolution, spatial representation and impulse reproduction are all a big step up with the Reiki Audio compared to an 'unfiltered' LAN connection. Of course you should own a system of correspondingly high quality and resolution. Otherwise such an investment makes little sense. But if you do, it's definitely worth a try.
