Reboot – It's Shanling's year 2004 CD-T300 limited edition $6'995 CD player which 20 years later now reappears as the CD-T35 for an extra $10K again limited to 99 pieces. It exploits remaining stock of the famous Philips CD-Pro-2 top-loading linear-tracking disc transport and a pair of AKM 4499EQ converters. A quartet of 12AU7 triodes features in the output stage. Shanling's Android-based streamer powered by an 8-core Snapdragon processor offers DLNA and Airplay over WiFi and embeds Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music and Spotify. Control is by HD touch screen or app-powered smartphone/tablet. Beneath the tilted touch screen sit XLR4, 4.4mm and 6.3mm headfi ports with an associated rotary gain control.
