Neo rides again – It's iFi's new Neo iDSD2 [£899], a fully balanced DAC/headfi deck which claims to be first with aptX Lossless for CD-quality Bluetooth streaming. There's also Bluetooth 5.4 and the ability to store up to eight device pairings in memory for easy switching. For hardwired cabling there is USB 3.0 via 32-bit 16-core XMOS, coax and Toslink and a BNC input for clock syncing. Line-level outputs are on RCA and XLR and there's even a 3.5mm stereo input. Power through the 4.4mm balanced headphone port is a whopping max 5.5wpc. The 2inch "Retina-grade" TFT display combines with a rotary control to show operational status. The converter engine is by Burr-Brown and supports up to 32/768 PCM and DSD 512. User adjustments include digital filters, gain settings, XBass II boost and XSpace crossfeed. Finally there's an aluminium remote and iFi's Nexis control app.
