Hegel HD50

HD – 50 that is as in, Hegel's new reference DAC HD50 [€4'895], a purist machine without streamer or preamp stage. It packs AC-filtered dual toroidal power shielded in steel. AES/EBU sees a "unique" RS-422 transformer-coupled receiver to process even low-level signal without jitter. The other digital inputs of coax, BNC, USB/B and dual Toslink get their own clocks, the actual DAC chip lives on its own board for minimal interference. Input sensing auto activates the right input and also engages sleep mode in the absence of signal. The display can be dimmed or turned off. Analog outputs are on RCA and XLR.
