ECM – Today that's not short for Edition of Contemporary Music aka the ECM record label but a new mono amp from Electrocompaniet, the AW 300M [€13.5K/ea]. As the model name suggests, it packs 300 watts into 8Ω, doubles into 4 ohms and still pushes a cool kilowatt into 2. It's another wide-bandwidth circuit of 0.5Hz-1.1MHz, sports 29dB of voltage gain, a balanced input and thru-put, 111'000µF of filter capacitance, 800VA mains transformer, damping factor of over 1'000 and slew rate of 140V/µs. For all that it measures just 21x49x29cm WxDxH but still weighs a most substantial 32kg.
