CD Box RS2 T – No sooner did Gryphon announce their Ethos CD player that Pro-Ject addresses the subject from the opposite end of the price spectrum with their RS2 T [€2'499]. To save money, this is a pure transport. Most audiophiles already own D/A converters they like. This top loader relies on the StreamUnlimited Blue Tiger CD-Pro 8 module with integral CD-84 servo board and offers an I²S-via-HDMI output aside from AES/EBU, coax and Toslink. Readable media are CD, CD-R, finalized CD-RW and hybrid SACD. The power supply is an external universal 20V/3A affair. The white LCD display shows time, track and CD text where available. A metal remote is included and finish options are black or silver.
