Active Buchardt grows legs – The Danes' new A700 is a 6-driver compact tower whose 0.74" soft-dome tweeter in an aluminium waveguide, 6" paper-cone midrange and 2 pairs of front/rear-firing 6" woofers combine into a sealed 3.5-way array which claims bandwidth of 17-40Hz/kHz ±1.5dB. Quad-core DSP, twin CS4398 DACs and 600 watts of class D per speaker add up to 28kg/ea but stand just one meter tall. The optional hub + remote adds USB, 3 x Toslink, coax and HDMI, 24/96 wireless, Apple Airplay, Chromecast. Bluetooth 5.0 aptX, Spotify Connect, DLA UpNP, Buchardt's own room correction and an advanced lossless equalizer. The A700 comes in walnut, white or black.
