Teresa of Avila? – No, it's Aquila X3 of Auralic [starting at €14.5K], a modular digital streamer with top-loading CD transport and 14" touchscreen, optional phono and analogue input modules, up to 8TB of NVMe storage plus 6.3mm headfi. What's more, users can pick from interchangeable surface panels like aluminium, slate, marble, walnut and accents in black, grey or gold. There's wired/wireless networking, USB B/C and 3.0, coax, Toslink, HDMI eARC and the brand's own app with Tidal/Qobuz Connect and AirPlay II. The outboard power supply with separate umbilicals for audio and processor power uses class AB regeneration with user-selectable target frequencies up to 400Hz. The onboard DAC with integral clock preceding the XLR and RCA analogue outputs combines ladder and Delta-Sigma blocks and embeds advanced tone controls, selectable filters and resampling options. In short, the Aquila X3 is a source that does it all; including software-generated VU meters. Built-in analog volume allows for amp-direct drive. Check out its configurator page.
