Oslo vintage – Jaromir Waszczyszyn of Ancient Audio revisits his original computer speaker Oslo. Now it's called Vintage Oslo [€499]. That's because unlike his all-aluminium Fram brand, the lower-priced Oslo sticks to MDF enclosures veneered in Oak. Still, it gets his same in-house sound processor chip which, specific to each model, performs DSP compensation here for a 10cm celluose wideband driver, down-ported enclosure and their interactions. Onboard amplification is by 20wpc class D via 19V external power brick. Analog inputs are on 3.5mm mini stereo plus line-level RCA. A matching pair of RCA outputs connects the right master speaker to the left slave speaker. Three compensation profile called 'desk vivid', 'room' and 'desk soft' optimize the response for near-field and mid-field setups. A 5V/250mA USB port provides power to a tablet, smart phone or portable player. Three different oak veneer stains [blond, black and reddish] are available. Dimensions are 13 x 24 x 18cm WxHxD.
