Srajan, here is a thoughtful article which I am forwarding for your perusal. The author shares your conclusions on the positive impact of sub integration into a hifi setup. His way of going about it (crossover frequencies, room position etc) is quite different and might spur some further experimentation on my side.  Would love to hear your views if you have time to read it. Thanks, Vincenzo Picone

I just read it. The author too zeroes in on proper time-domain integration as vital and obviously was involved in the JL Audio crossover box. The Gradient Box will duplicate most of its functions whilst adding full remote control over them all. That's what I plan to use. The author also promotes HT processors which 2-channel guys don't have; or the addition of digital processors to create a delay for the mains which you can't do in the analog domain. That's why I've been vocal that in the purist 2-channel space, we need an analog solution (like the JL or spl or Wilson xovers) but with the addition of remote control; and that we must account for digital latency in modern subs which throws off the impulse response if not corrected for. I prefer to correct it physically (by moving the sub closer to the seat by the exact distance of its delay) rather than digitally. Ideally you'd have a sub with no digital latency at all. Here the Grimm Audio comes very close. Let me know what you learn in your experiments. It's a subject ripe for personal investigation and I'm still learning. Some of what the artice talks about I haven't tried yet. Srajan

At the moment I am using a Cube Audio Sub12 in combination with Pál’s icOn 4Pro SE. Cube Audio tell me that their Sub has 1-2ms latency which I correct by placing it ~50cm closer than the mains (Cube Audio 10" monitor, sound|kaos Vox 3a, Lawrence Audio Double Bass). I’ll be going with the Gradient Box as well and will test both the sound|kaos and Grimm subs when available. I'll come back at you when I have new experiences. Vincenzo

Sounds like a plan. Sharing helps us all learn from each other. Srajan
