Srajan, I just came off your last Darko podcast and wondered whether you'd seen this particular comment. I know that you don't go for social media and forum comments so probably didn't see it. What do you make of it? "Srajan Ebaen is the wrong guy – nice friendly guy, but why not find a younger HiFi enthusiast, who will talk Hifi with you. Srajan does not attract anyone or generate traffic or interest and he does not seem to know anything Darko does not. Find a guy like Linus from Linus tech tips or a male Jana with energy and excitement. Someone who will work and reach a broader audience." Abel
That poster makes a rock-solid point. I'm definitely the wrong guy to appeal to the younger YouTube audience and grow a channel. It's why I don't expect our new 7th Moon channel to do any big numbers at all. We're not even asking for subscribers or likes nor did we open a comments section. Couldn't be bothered with any of it. Let the algorithm roam elsewhere for big numbers. It's not our concern. It's not why Dawid and I do it. We already have established websites. Our channel is merely an adjunct for those in our audience who want to listen/watch rather than just read for a change; and for us to explore a platform we're still new to. No delusions of grandeur. Meanwhile John has already grown his YouTube channel to what our particular sector can probably net. I never had the sense that the purpose of our joint podcasts was to grow his channel. Once more, I'd be altogether the wrong guy for that. 100% agreed. That's really all I have on the matter since I don't know Linus nor whether he'd be a good fit for John. And you're correct, I don't do social media or surf comments sections. If people email me directly, I'm always happy to respond promptly. Aside from that, I focus on creating content rather than worry about reactions to it. I'm very small-minded that way. Srajan

Another good point. I'm WiFi allergic. I do hardwired streaming the old PCfi way. For the generation reared on a 24/7 smartphone tether, that's obviously ancient. In fact, my smartphone lives in my car's centre console for emergencies. I have a landline in my office. For the younger crowd that's another anachronism. Are separates still big when a DSP streaming active can do far more for less? Do people still value local libraries when they can access millions of songs for either free or a small monthly fee? Do they still listen to live unamplified music to inform their playback expectations? Do they really want to 'follow' a grey-haired 64-year old? The day that John has enough such feedback to tell me that my ongoing participation in the occasional podcast would be counterproductive to his aims and needs for his channel, I'll jump ship and thank him very much for the learning opportunity he extended me. It's simply the way I see it. Good/bad don't really enter into it. I enjoy what I do and like to collaborate with others where it's welcome. Should things change, one makes the necessary adjustments. Srajan
