Box IQ

Geeking out over packaging really takes the cake. But what to do when the bread runs out? Albedo Audio's Achema arrived in this apparently ordinary carton whose only initial difference were its three reusable straps in lieu of tape or staples. Lay the box on its side with the writing up as shown. Undo the straps and everything comes apart. First the bottom-less outer sleeve lifts off to then fold flat which stores away swell. Underneath the top hard foam, the cardboard sides with foam spacers and the top and bottom foam all fall out. The only thing left is a shallow bottom cardboard tray in which sat the loose side panels and top and bottom foam ends. That bottom cradle has another glued foam liner with cut-out for the binding posts. With nothing else left of the packaging now so naught to lift or walk out, all we're looking at is a speaker on its back on the floor, inside a protective cloth sleeve atop a shallow carboard tray. Cant up the loot on its pre-mounted outriggers with spikes whilst stowing away all packaging neatly flat for minimum fuss. No specialized ClipLoc tech involved, just utterly ordinary cardboard assembled more cleverly to make a real difference when a single person is tasked with unboxing and later repacking a reasonably heavy speaker. In 23 years on the beat, I'd never seen it done this smartly so wanted to memorialize the occasion with a super-geeky mini feature. Now I did and you're off wondering what baloney gets single older men excited.

Seriously though, I recommend to speaker manufacturers to look into Albedo's solution. It might really suit your product. There are no staples or tape to contend with, no inconvenience of storing voluminous boxes, no liability of having to lift heavy items during unpacking or return packing; and all materials are perfectly, safely and easily reusable without a second set of hands.
