Garlubidor

They've done it again. That was pretty much my first thought after learning of new brand Garlubidor. After Musician Audio it's the latest Denafrips subsidiary. See Justia Trademarks where the name is registered to Guangzhou Denafrips Audio Electronics Co., Ltd. Like Denafrips, the name is unusual. It feels possibly borrowed from a Tolkien map. With two DACs, two amps and a pair of monitor speakers on the roster, current distribution appears mostly limited to the webstore though TweakGeek in the US are on board already to suggest alternate sales platforms. They've done it again factored also upon reading the owner's manual of the more upscale Divinity DAC. Whilst it has RCA and XLR outputs, like Denafrips they are not to be used together. Doesn't that somewhat defeat the purpose? How about a new trick on that score? Also like Denafrips, this is a 1'536/1'024-ready discrete R2R circuit with dual pin-configurable I²S inputs and a double-decker build whose dual-toroid PSU occupies the lower half, the signal-path circuit the upper. Unlike Denafrips, there's a display and remote-enabled volume control, the latter not officially identified as being digital or analog. Also unlike Denafrips, a streamer with full-size touch screen is already on the roadmap. From afar, Garlubidor appear primed to address certain feature requests which Denafrips might have collected over the years but couldn't implement into their own lineup? Follow the link below to take a look and see what you think. If you're wondering why a bigger factory would keep introducing new brands—FiiO already have Jadeaudio and Snowsky—I imagine that to keep the workers busy and sales strong, running different distribution schemes in parallel is easier with multiple brands?
