I recall the late Eduardo de Lima's Audiopax experiments with aluminium, stainless steel and bronze casings. With identical circuitry mounted, his bronze amp enclosures had demonstrably superior tone. He couldn't explain it in scientific terms but embraced pragmatism thus far costlier bronze and the slippery task of applying perfect chrome atop it. Kevin Scott of Living Voice prefers the sound of bronze for the bugle horn of his Vox Olympian. So does Martin Gateley of sound|kaos as reflected in the bronze basket of his proprietary Vox 3a AlNiCo widebander and matching bronze mount for its Raal ribbon. The raw stock of more exotic materials may not only cost disproportionally more. It could be far costlier to machine. That escalates machine-shop time and complexity of required finishing steps. Chiseling out extra performance points always sucks up far more oxygen. That's true also for today's Rezonators. Accepting the assignment meant that I wouldn't subsequently bitch about their extreme cost. Nobody is forced to buy them. Reading about them here is perfectly free. Shall we now rezonate like we did last summer?

Before we get twisted, a quick comment on the implied MO of resonating. Isn't it a slight misnomer in that, when supported thus damped on both ends with the supplied groove footers, our titanium rods can't resonate freely? To my mind, they're more sinks like a finned radiator which siphons heat units off a power transistor or voltage regulator. The Danish part adds mass to whatever we place it on. Now its high density becomes an excellent absorber for micro resonances. Yes? No? Maybe?

For whatever it's worth, this was my amateur view on its intended operation. Given how our two main systems use effective expensive resonance-attenuating racks/isolators from Artesanía and Hifistay—the former includes six mass-loading discs to put atop equipment which for the duration of this review hopped off—I was curious. What if anything could the Aalborg rods still add to the performance of these racks? But then particularly the above Mythology X-Frame rack mirrors Ansuz's own with its multi-stage ball-bearing isolators between floor and uprights, struts and shelves plus special dampers inside the hollow columns. If the Rezonators still make a difference with Ansuz's rack, shouldn't they with ours? Only one way to find out. To give my ears the best chance in this upstairs system, I used our Bakoon AMP-13R as the highest-res amp we have for it.
