10/9/05: It had to happen eventually. Our first writer retires from mooning in public. Professor at Yale and NYU, Jules Coleman has juggled additional professional assignments while contributing here and paying attention to his lovely wife Mimsie and their three children. When our review turnaround schedule finally began to take its toll on brother Jules, I suggested he retire before reviewing turned from fun to duty and affected his enjoyment of music, never mind his personal life. Any of that would be far too high a price to pay for the dubious privilege of writing about audio.

Jules came to us from UltraAudio.Com and helped introduce Shindo electronics and Hørning Hybrid loudspeakers to our readership. His think piece on "reviewers as expert witnesses, not judges" remains one of my favorites on the subject. Jules will still report on a ClearAudio vinyl setup and Vivaldi speakers before his well-deserved retirement takes effect. We wish Jules all the best in his professional life that shows no signs of slowing down. I applaud his decision to save sanity and love of music before turning into the first-ever burned-out moon man. That is something we hope will never happen to any of us. Should I detect signs thereof, I'd have to terminate such fun offenders to save them from themselves ...
