Not long after reviewing Sablon Audio’s Panatela interconnect and Gran Corona power cable, Mark Coles sent along a set of his new Panatela speaker cables, digital interconnect, the new entry-level Petit Corona power cable plus the latest iterations of his Gran Corona power cord and Panatela interconnects.

I generally prefer to review cables as a complete system, specifically interconnects and speaker cables. This preserves coherence and gets me a better sense of the designer’s goal. For me mixing and matching cables is an unpredictable, frustrating and ultimately pointless enterprise. It was with a great sigh of relief when Mark sent me the whole Sablon Audio kitchen sink.

The Panatela speaker cable is a 9-gauge design with separate runs for + and - featuring "an array of disparate conductors (metals, gauge, topology, dielectric and degree of cryogenic treatment)". The outer sleeve is a white soft pliable cloth. Terminations are Xhadow silver spade lugs. As with all Sablon Audio cables, every Panatela cable is constructed by hand. Connections are pressure-terminated which Mark believes makes superior joints to solder. Terminations are treated with anti-oxidants and contact paste, completed cables are subjected to pre-conditioning on an Audiodharma Anniversary cable cooker. Bi-wire versions customized to your speaker’s crossover frequency are available by request as are grounding leads and jumpers for Tannoy and Avantgarde speakers. Essentially Mark can provide whatever configuration you desire.
