It joins three existing brethren in a range of flagship drivers with elliptical voice coils and elliptical magnet gaps. Like theirs, its motor uses many neodymium magnets in a 'flower power' array. The surround is multi-fold fabric and a black-anodized dress rings hides mounting bolts. Called the 38WE, this rigid paper-cone woofer has a resonant frequency of 26Hz, a Qts of 0.24, impedance of 6.4Ω, a force factor of 18.7Tm and sensitivity of a whopping 95dB.
