Knowing Adam

I don't know him from Adam. If he was a she, would we say Eve?

I can ask the question without having the answer. But should you want to know your desktop from Adam, I might just have it; the answer that is: Adam Audio's new all-in-one D3V €329/pr speaker system. It's a 3½" two-way with one-piece aluminium mid/woofer, matching passive radiators on either side and a small AMT on top. 30/70wpc of DSP-controlled/filtered class D juices the tweeters and dynamics respectively. -6dB bass extension is a claimed 45Hz and a detachable tilt desktop plinth is included. Alternately a threaded bottom insert can take a height-adjustable microphone stand. A 4-pole 2m umbilical connects the slave speaker to the master, a power socket on the latter connects to the 24V/2.5A power adapter. USB-C shakes hands with PC/Mac and tablets, dual ¼" TRS plugs take analog signal and process it as 24-bit/48kHz digital. Color choices for the ABS cabs is white or black. The master's back panel also includes three 3-stop DSP adjustments for boundary, desk and room compensation. For the ask, this seems a lot of tech IQ in a stylish sleek package that should be easy to use. The primary habitat is clearly the desktop though nearfield listening in a smaller room's classic stereo triangle could just be in the frame, too. We're currently pursuing multiple lines of inquiry.

Just kidding. I really don't know these from Adam. Their product page simply promises an attractive problem solver for a desktop. Here small size and ~50Hz bandwidth without add-on boxes caters to the non-freaky user. She doesn't want an altar to hifi but a modern appliance that simply plays the tunes without first (snip) selling off a kidney. With the present-giving season upon us in a bit more than two months, this could be an ideal gift for anyone in the home office or going to school then cramming on a laptop? There's even a 3.5mm headphone socket to sweeten the deal. So perhaps get to know this Adam from the other Adam and take a bite out of the ol' apple?
