The big room ran a pair of Mazzoli prototype speakers with Zanden's Model 2500 CD player, the original prototype of Angelis Labor's Sophia and a pair of Metamorphosis Series monoblocks. Music First Audio's top passive was - passive.

Yours truly took a surprise call from Eric Pheils of Zanden who had trouble obtaining Shuguang 845s from his usual vendor. I suggested he contact Shuguang directly and have Alex Wang of Melody Valve Hifi act as his intermediary.

Gemme Audio's new Ania mini monitors with ribbon tweeters weren't content to remain on the sidelines and were leashed up on short notice. A matching stand with a passive bass system is under development. The Canadians are also working on the Green Gem three-piece system whose dual 38cm JBL 2226 bass system is disguised as a piece of furniture to be placed centrally and accompanied by two satellites. Audio Point is contemplating European distribution for Gemme Audio and is presently investigating a few more select lines. Those might be announced as early as CES.
