There were three employees present, as well as Vinnie's father, who is retired and helping him out. Two employees were installing the selector switches and wiring for the Isabella when I arrived. The third employee is an electrical engineering undergraduate student. He does the more intricate soldering on the boards.

Vinnie uses new production JJ Tesla 6922/E88CC tubes in the Isabella. Rather than testing all of the tubes individually before installation, he tests their performance on the test bench, as operating in the Isabella. He can check for linearity, as well as noise level in the circuit.

The sealed, lead acid batteries are encased in padded metal shrouds, which keep the batteries snug. Vinnie likes to be able to shake a finished unit and not hear anything rattle or move.

His packing is excellent, with foam inserts supplied by a company in nearby Branford, Connecticut. They dropped a boxed amp off of their entry way stairs down onto the pavement and, while the box was dented on one corner, the amp was cosmetically and operationally fine. So, customers need not worry about insufficient packaging.
