For me of course, music is the more important type of food and from Fado to Tango, canzons to festijos, cante to Galician reels, Mexican boleros to Brazilian samba, Karen Squire's got you covered.

One very cool feature about privately owned stores like these? Customer service is second to none. Having recently discovered Bebo & Cigala's Lagrimas Negras (my current nomination for "Best Album of the Year" - more to come shortly in our world music pages), I asked Karen about Flamenco Puro releases by Dieguito El Cigala who, after all, has been singing for a good 10 years before going Cuban. She was out of the CD she had in mind but took a note to order me anything directly from Spain that Cigala had recorded thus far and to call me when it came in. Ole!
