Conclusion. As individualistic as its industrial design is, so is the Wadia's sound. It allows itself its very own character to apparently continue with the firm’s original philosophy to have its digital products sound ‘analog’. The Intuition 01 celebrates subtleties. Other amps might be more neutral to particularly in the bass offer more precision and control and more brilliance on top. But the Wadia’s talents manage to involve us in the music. This addresses pleasure listeners who find the soul of music in the midband and favour the more intimate moments.

• on the warmer side of neutral. Potent bass and expressive mids mate to a precise but soft treble. This supports extended sessions but straight-line fanatics could complain.
• low sounds remain comparably soft. Instead of ultimate precision it's amplitude and extension which win the day. Given the overall voicing this is likely fully deliberate.
• excels from the lower midrange through the entire vocal band where top-class resolution and colour temperatures play to their strengths.
• is no microdynamic racer but takes its time to fill in details and timbres of the smallest structures.
• macrodynamically the considerable power reserves come to the fore. More loudness keeps being available one thinks. At the levels I could stand, this was helped by perceiving no strain. It’s likely that your ears would give out before this machine does.
• Soundstaging is precise but not opulent. Given the opulent tonal balance this intimacy surprises. Closer up applies to both perceived listening distance and the distance between the performers. This perspective is focused more on the content than the surrounding venue.
