Sean Casey's feedback on their CES 2009 showing: "It was a good show for us. People appreciated the sound and even veterans like Jim Smith (ex Avantgarde USA), Wes Phillips and John Atkinson from Stereophile and Bob at BAAS liked it. Given how our whole system cost was about $10,000, that was pretty exciting. Even the hard to please like Peter (Dave and Carol's son from Positive Feedback) had a thumbs up. He was spinning Thursday, Mogwai, Silver Jews and other bands that are impossible for traditional hifi rigs to play back with sincerity.

"Our focus was the launch of the Essence. We ran a variety of gear and changed it each day. This included a ModWright Sony CD player, a ModWright preamp, an Angelis Labor preamp, our Melody Valve Hifi I2A3 integrated, Manley Labs Mahi monos (generally run with minimum feedback and in triode), RedWine Audio Signature 70.2 monos, the PeachTree Audio Nova as integrated and USB server and Angelis Labor amplifiers. All cabling was ours and we ran no power conditioning, room treatments or accessories.

"We were happy with the quality of traffic and to hear that most visitors thought our new exclusive direction to dealers a bold and positive move. We received a lot of
input on dealer programs, point-of-sale needs, marketing, all the things we generally need to improve on. The Essence and dealer program will hit the ground middle of February. It was good to see and meet so many people who share the passion for music and Physics behind it. My highlights included getting to know John DeVore who had a room right next to us. He and I did our share of 'hall monitoring' and got to talk music and NY..."

On what Sean's personal favorite combination was, "the ModWright pre with the Manley Mahi monos on minimal feedback and triode. This had terrific bass resolution, really giving you a good bite and feel on Blues and Rock though it didn't have the sweetness and harmonic refinement above 1,000Hz that Melody's I2A3 offered. That's still one killer amp and unsurpassed value for our speakers."
