The MTS-4e power strip is especially noteworthy here. Somehow I never wrote about it sooner but I have been using it for two years now. It powers my headphone system with the Leben SC-300 SX and the sources connected to it. It has never failed me sonically or mechanically. If I was to recommend any other products they would usually be the cheaper Supra and Gigawatt and only then the Acoustic Revive I use in my main system. I am under the impression that the majority of competing power strips perhaps with the exception of Furutech and the Gigawatt PF-2 (I don’t know the new Mk2 version) are mere snake oil and pretend t being something they are not.

Oyaide is always exceptional at coming up with innovative products of their own design which are manufactured mostly in house – products which are sonically excellent and of matching workmanship. AC power plugs from Oyaide are used by a dominant part of the high-end audio sector all over the world (if they can afford them). This is true engineering backed up by excellent ears and, to be blunt, not so otherworldly pricing.

Tunami GPX-Re power cord. The Tunami GPX-R is a new version with upgraded specification over the Tunami GPX power cord that's been available for years. The new cable sports a special version of the Oyaide P/C-004 mains connector called 'Aspirin Snow White'. The plugs are white and the cable is black to make for a nice visual contrast. The housing is made of thick rigid and hard polycarbonate which offers resistance to small mechanical vibrations. All conductive parts are made not of the usual phosphor bronze but beryllium-coated copper for better conductivity and improved mechanical integrity. The contacts are additionally coated with a layer of platinum and palladium.

The cable is constructed of twisted PCOCC-A with a 5.5mm² cross section. The design is guaranteed for up to 600V and a maximum current flow of 30A. To protect against noise Oyaide designed a triple screen. It not only protects against external and internal electromagnetic radiation but ensures the suppression of mechanical noise generated by vibrating conductors. In the first shield layer electromagnetic waves are converted into heat. The second layer is made of a type of carbon semiconductor which exploits its properties of discharging static electricity without affecting the surrounding conductors. The third layer is a copper foil protecting against external interference. The whole is complemented by a drain wire placed close to the foil screen and connected to a protective conductor to improve the overall S/N ratio.

MTS-4e power strip. Its housing is made of rigid sheets of high-grade stainless steel with a multi-step polished surface. Internal wiring is 4N 2mm² silver. Generally Oyaide subjects all its metals to an accelerated aging process but here the internal hookup wiring was processed only to eliminate surface oxidation. The power sockets are Oyaide's top SWO-XXX-E design with bodies made of 30% glass-filled polybutylene terephthalate. Particular attention was paid to the connecting pins made of de-oxidized phosphor bronze coated with multiple layers of gold and palladium. The socket pins are of a special patented geometry based on two spring elements and one very large contact area ensuring extremely strong pressure. The IEC socket too is vital and why Oyaide used their high-end IEC 320 RR with contacts of silver- and rhodium-plated brass.

Oyaide lists the following characteristics for their power bar. “The dual-spring vise design was newly developed for the most expensive Oyaide sockets. Due to its strong gripping power and 9mm wide contact area, the contacts significantly reduce vibration with no loss of signal transmission. The body has a special design with separately molded bottom and top which is very effective at suppressing high frequencies. The small distance between the body and fixing pins additionally reduces vibrations. All components ranging from the 6mm thick contacts down to the stainless screws are made of non-magnetic materials. The chassis is highly rigid non-magnetic SUS 304 stainless steel. It protects not only from vibration but electromagnetic waves and a very broad spectrum of noise. The chassis is internally damped with a viscoelastic 313 material. To isolate the strip from the floor it is placed on accurately machined brass spikes with a choice of four-point (default) or three-point support.

SWD-XXX-e mains socket. Although I didn't mention it yet, one can complete this set with the matching wall socket costing 590 Polish. The SWD-XXX-e is constructed in exactly the same way as the power sockets on the strip.
