I also installed the 12X into the power strip feeding our computer system. Here the effect on picture quality especially with games was outstanding. Prior to the 12X I wasn’t that aware of slightly blurred images or a thin scrim of haze on dark or poorly lit scenes - until they simply vanished now. Colors also took a giant step forward in richness and vibrancy. It was quite impressive. I shouldn’t have been that surprised perhaps since that one circuit not only feeds our desktop PC system but also an answering machine, printer, router, modem and alarm system. The noise on that line must be considerable.
How effective these devices might be in your system will probably depend on your equipment and the AC power in your home. Be mindful of quick A/B comparisons as I doubt you’d notice any difference right off the hop. The change is gradual but pronounced over a number of hours/days. All those caps need time to do their thing just as in any other component. I didn’t notice that big of a difference between the 6X and 12X. As long as I had one of them plugged in the benefit was real and substantial. Adding in the second one added a bit more goodness. Again, I expect the degree of effect to vary from system to system and where you connect them.
What we have here then is effective power conditioning that should improve the sound and picture quality of any system without any drawbacks other than requiring an available outlet or two on the same circuit. The closer you can plug one to a specific component, the bigger the effect. You can even plug one or more into an existing PLC. A 6X on my GutWire MaxCon gave excellent results. Considering the reasonable price of the 6X and 12X and provided you can overlook the oddball appearance, the Sillycone Filters are easily the most cost-effective power line conditioners I am aware of. They may look silly but they’re anything but. Way recommended.
